Like countless other Jews at the time, Mike and his family were stateless refugees. After the passing of his love, Neilda, Howard turned to his battle with Parkinsons disease. His passion for helping and serving clients as a CPA lead to a successful and fulfilling career in public accounting where clients became lifelong friends. After seven years of dialysis treatment, Nate decided to end his treatment and spend his final days with family and friends. From a very young age, Michael had a special relationship with Judaism and Israel. He graduated from the Northwestern School of Law in 1974 and from the University of Oregon with a bachelors in accounting and business statistics in 1971. His greatest joy and concern was his beloved family. At Willamette, Ruben was again elected student body president, and was voted Little All-American in football.
